Does the Tucann waistband stretch?

Yes at the back. The front of the waistband is flat and tailored so it sits like a pair of shorts; the back panel is elasticated and there is a functional drawstring with metal aglets. Reviews describe this as the reason the trunks stay put when wet without feeling like a swimming costume. It also gives about an inch of tolerance if you are between sizes.
