How the recommendation is made
Waist sets the base size from Tucann's published chart. If you are within half an inch of a boundary, fit preference decides: snug takes the smaller size, relaxed the larger. Athletic build at a boundary rounds up. Muscular thighs always add one size, because that is the single most consistent finding in the review archive: the leg opening is tailored and men with big quads who stayed in their waist size wrote most of the fit complaints. Height sets the inseam: under 5 ft 8 is 3 or 5 inch, 5 ft 8 to 6 ft 1 is 5 inch, 6 ft 1 and over is 7 inch.

Probably in between sizes when I bought it. I sized up. I’m a little nervous about them slipping off when diving into a pool. But very comfy otherwise. Will buy again.

These shorts are good quality and fit comfortably. However, they are a bit tight around the thighs for anyone who may workout or have thicker legs.
These are my favorite swim shorts inside and out. The look and feel outstanding. I commonly wear them out and about as athletic shorts.
