Tucann vs Chubbies
Chubbies made short swim trunks mainstream in the US with a loose, retro cut and a mesh liner. Tucann's cut is more tailored, the inseam options are similar (3, 5 and 7 inch versus Chubbies' 4, 5.5 and 7), and the liner is compression fabric rather than mesh. Chubbies customers tend to notice two things when they try Tucann: the liner, and that the leg is closer fitting, so a man who wears a large in Chubbies may need a larger size in the thigh.
These shorts are amazing. I thought I liked my Chubbies shorts but these Tucann’s are premium! The elastic in the waist back make for a perfect fit and the compression short lining is extremely comfortable. The Tucann beads at the end of the strings are a sick little highlight as well. Couldn’t be more happy with my purchase. I will probably never wear any other board shorts brand again.
Nice shorts but order 1-2 sizes up. My husband wears a L in chubbies and he needed an XXL in these!

Tucann vs Speedo style briefs
A different product. Customers who mention Speedo are usually describing the liner: it holds like a brief without the trunks themselves being a brief. One customer preferred a brief underneath and cut the liner out; the rest liked the combination.
Love the men's speedos. They cover slightly more than the other options, which make them more easier to wear among prudish people lol.
The fit is perfect, I like the under short lining better than the typical speedo style . My gal loved the way they look on me.
Nice color and fit, but the liner had too much rise. I ended up cutting it out; I’ll just wear a speedo/brief underneath.
Tucann vs Lululemon
These are so comfortable. I paid the same amount for Lululemon and my husband hated those. My son actually cut the lining out of his pair they were so bad. I bought Tuscan for my husband for Father’s Day and he never wants to own any other brand. He loves them!
Compared with other brands generally
Fits good and wife thinks they look great and that’s what’s important. I really need to wear them through the summer to see if I think they are worth the cost. I was looking for something that showed off my athletic build for pool days better than the traditional long baggy board shorts most of us men wear. If I order another pair it’d be the 3”. The 5” are good but could show a little more thigh.
I bought a Medium because a large wasn’t available in the design I wanted. I’m 5’ 7” 190lbs bodybuilder type. They are a little snug but they are so comfortable it’s hard to tell. I love that these have underwear built in and not just cheap netting like their competitors. I’m definitely buying Tucanns from now on!
Love the Tucann brand, I’ve bought several for my partner and he loves them. The fun colour and patterns makes stand out from other brands, they are also a great stretchy material that is comfortable to wear. I’m now just about to also buy some for my father in law, which I know he’ll love too.
Love the design and feel. Ordered the 7" XL Actually want to try a 5" L... The stretch is nice, but the XL was a little loose and I believe the 5" will look even better than my 7"s. AMAZING quality shorts, hoping to wear them for a lonnnng time. Worth the purchase for surrre!!!
Literally the best swim trunks I’ve ever bought. The inner short material is super soft and comfy it looks really sharp o can’t wait for vacation. They got me buying another color just to own a 2nd pair def worth the $80 compared to evening else out there ! Great trunks
