As a gift, buy his normal short size in the 5 inch, choose a print rather than black, and rely on free US exchanges if the size is off. Gift buyers are 92% five star, which is notable because they are sizing for someone else. The pattern: buy his normal short size, choose a print rather than plain black (the recipient can buy black himself), and lean on free exchanges if the size is off. The Vacation Pack and a print in 5 inch are the most common gift orders.
